“Dolphins in the Desert” Cuff

Sterling silver overlay bracelet depicting a surreal and symbolic landscape with two dolphins swimming through a desert landscape toward a Hopi village on the mesa. Deep etching and cross-hatched textures bring to life Victor Coochwytewa’s illustration. The design is based on a vision that Victor Coochwytewa had of floodwaters encroaching on his desert homeland. One of only two pieces known to illustrate this scene, the design suggests an environmental warning. Made in the 1990s.

Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this bracelet has never been previously owned.
