This exceptional Bow Guard (or Ketoh) bracelet features a high-grade, natural Pilot Mountain turquoise stone set in sterling silver, framed by symbolic Hopi overlay. Two eagle heads face one another, their beaks overlapping a central medicine wheel—an image of protection, spiritual guidance, and balance. The eagle is a messenger of prayer and protector of people. The artist, John Coochyumptewa, used eagles frequently in his designs. He was affectionately known as “Eagle Boy”. The silverwork is masterfully overlaid and textured, exemplifying John Coochyumptewa’s refined craftsmanship. The hand-tooled leather base was created by Ray Pohja.
